Writing and editing for games and geek culture
We help game studios, tabletop publishers, and geeky businesses with game writing, UX writing, editing, and marketing copy. Bring a brief, a draft, or the part you’re still trying to put into words.
Led by Thanasis, founder, writer, and editor.
Also for people making things in anime, manga, comics, collectibles, and tech.
Client work includes Bandai Namco Mobile and Kokku.

Where we can help
We can write from a brief, work through an existing draft, or help your team decide what the copy needs to do.
Game writing
Item descriptions, ability text, quest objectives, and flavor text for games and tabletop projects. Share the world, mechanics, and tone; we’ll write copy that fits them, with gameplay details clear and terminology consistent.
UX writing
Menus, onboarding, tooltips, error messages, and other UI copy for games, apps, and websites. We work with your screens and user flows to make actions, choices, and next steps clear.
Editing and proofreading
Rulebooks, adventures, supplements, and other manuscripts. We work on structure, clarity, grammar, and consistency while keeping your voice and game terminology intact. You receive edited text and questions about any rules or details that need your decision.
Marketing and content
Positioning, brand voice, and copy for launches, campaigns, and ongoing communication. That can include websites, store pages, crowdfunding copy, articles, newsletters, and community updates, shaped around what you’re making and who you want to reach.
Start with a focused review, a defined project, or ongoing support. See ways to work together and starting prices.

We wrote website copy, game announcements, and articles about the people and decisions behind the studio.

“At BNM, every team member has an equal say in the success of our projects.”
For this article, we helped introduce the studio’s culture and plans in an informal, confident voice.

Brand voice · Industry articles · Campaign copy
Our work included tone of voice guidance, industry articles, and a Gamescom landing page for a game development partner.

“Targeting as many devices as possible is critical, but equally important is ensuring smooth performance on the supported devices.”
For the CPU/GPU article, we worked from interview notes to explain performance concerns in terms a studio could act on.
A few of the people we’ve worked with
“Nerditors made our copy clearer and on brand. It’s not easy writing for gamers, but they get it.”
“They fixed our handbook without ruining our rules (or our soul).”

How we work
Understand the project
We discuss your audience, production stage, deadline, and constraints. Need an NDA? Mention it before sharing private material.
Agree on the details
We confirm the deliverables, fee, milestones, and review rounds, with one person coordinating your team’s feedback.
Work with your team
We agree on the direction early, then write or edit in the files and tools chosen for the project. We flag questions as they arise.
Review in context
We check the copy in the screens, pages, or layouts you provide. Your team confirms the facts; we make the agreed revisions and hand over the final files.
Do you use AI?
We may use AI for supporting tasks outside writing and editing. We write and edit client work ourselves, including the comments and recommendations we give you.
You’re welcome to bring a draft developed with AI. We’ll read it and discuss what it needs, just as we would with any other draft.
Part of the community
We set aside 5% of every invoice for organizations that support wellbeing in gaming and help more people play.
Examples of organizations we could support:
- Safe In Our World provides mental health resources and training for players and people working in games.
- Take This works to reduce mental health stigma and improve support within the gaming community.
- SpecialEffect helps people with physical disabilities play video games through adapted controls and specialist support.
Tell us about your project
Your message comes directly to me, Thanasis. A few notes are enough to start, and I’ll reply within two working days. We’ll work out the scope, fee, and timing together.
If the project is confidential, keep the description general. We can discuss an NDA before you share files.
